Volunteers Make a Difference

As a non-profit organization, we depend on our community members to share their time and talents. Volunteers support our staff and ongoing programs. Through their work on the Center’s behalf, volunteers strengthen ties with others in our community.

Types of Opportunities: 

Nutrition: Home Delivered Meal Packer or Delivery Driver, Lunch Server/Clean Up, Monthly Food Box Delivery.

Programs: Check-in Attendant, Lead Classes and Activities, Provide Education, Electronics/Social Media Assistance, LINK-ages Committee, Health Clinic Attendant, Nail Clinic Assistant.  

Special Events: Holiday Events, Brat Bust or Ice Cream Events, Musical Performances, Blood Drives, Community Fairs.

Building: Snow Shoveling, Gardening, Indoor Plant Care, Decorating for Celebrations/Holidays.

Other: Newsletter Distributing, RSVP Driver  Escorts (Medical Appointments), Greeting Card Recycling, RSVP Helping Hands, Tax Season Assistant, Administrative Support. 

Reasons to volunteer:

  • To make new friends

New volunteers will be asked to complete a few simple forms and provide references. Our Volunteer Coordinator will gladly meet with you to learn about your interests. We strive to match your volunteer role with your special interests and skills. Volunteers are welcome to give as much or as little time as they desire.

Volunteers are special and we are grateful to our volunteers who support our mission. Volunteers bring joy and comradery to the Center. The compassion our volunteers show daily in everything they do is part of what makes the Center so special. The Center’s volunteer program promotes an environment of respect and inclusiveness and encourages all individuals to lend their knowledge, skills, talent, and time to improve the Center and our community.

Current Opportunities:

  • Deliver noon meal to homebound seniors.  Weekdays, varied schedule, you pick the days.
  • Drive seniors to medical appointments.  Varied schedule, you decide which rides/days 
  • Meal Packer/Lunch Server 
  • Special Events Help
  • Garden and grounds help

Retried Seniors Volunteer Program of Dane County offers volunteers a connection to the larger volunteer community.  Volunteers who drive (people or meals) are required to register with RSVP of Dane County.  RSVP provides additional insurance and offers mileage reimbursement.
